Should you find your boiler is losing pressure you need to locate the problem and either solve it yourself or get the experts in to help you. There can be many reasons your boiler is losing pressure, but it may be expensive if left to its own devices.

Here are two potential problems you may encounter that could explain why the pressure is low.

Leaks

One of the main culprits when it comes to loss of pressure in the boiler is leaks. It can be tricky to locate the leak. If it isn’t in the main boiler then it could be near one of your radiators. Walk around and check by the radiators for any little puddles, if you find one then you have found your leak. If you are still not seeing anything after checking the radiators, then it could be coming from your water tank in the loft. Check the ceilings for any water marks or damp patches. Once you have located the leak, call in the experts to solve this for you. It won’t take long to rectify the problem.

Bleeding radiators

Your loss in pressure could be due to you bleeding the radiators. If your radiators weren’t filling up or heating up properly then this would lead you to bleed them. Unfortunately, when you bleed your radiators, air is released which in turn lowers the pressure in your boiler. This happens for safety reasons. Give it a chance to fill up the radiators and the pressure should return to normal in no time at all.

We hope this gives you hope that the problem is nothing serious and can be rectified quickly and effectively.
